21 Weeks!

My weekly update on the size of Jake. Today he is the length of a banana. :)

Even though my grandma hates the belly pictures online I decided to keep doing it... for now at least. Here I am... Looking bigger. I actually feel bigger now. When I wear certain clothes you may ask yourself if Brooke is just eating too many cheese burgers, but if I wear something tight... it's visible that I'm actually pregnant. FINALLY. :)

Hope everyone has an outstanding Thursday!

Brooke

Family is everything.

My mom is the best (of course we all feel this way)... But, I feel so lucky to have my momma! My mom is thoughtful, caring (caring about all of us before herself on a regular basis), loving, affectionate, strong, patient, and God loving. I can only pray I'm as good as a mother as she is to my brothers and I.  I have been reflecting a lot lately about my life and where I come from... Wondering, "Am I going to be as good mom as mine was?" I call my mom on a daily basis and freak out about the little things... her response: "Honey, once the baby is born your natural instincts will kick in and you'll do a great job." That was all I needed to hear to feel at ease. I guess part of my stress is that my family doesn't live in Southern California anymore, and that I can't just drive home for help or have my mom drive over in a moments notice. Idaho is about a day and a half away... 16-18 hrs non-stop. I know this after my road trip with my brother and his wife in October. I am lucky however to have Grant. He is very hands on and will be a great father... so I wont be alone in this process... again I feel relieved. :)

Why my parents are amazing? For so many reasons! My parents have been married for 30 years. My mom and dad met when my mom was 17, and my Dad was 20 in 1979. My parents met, and 3 months later where engaged. My mom and dad got a shock of a lifetime when they found out my mom was expecting me while they were engaged and my parents were SO young. Did that stop them? NOPE. My mom and dad decided that they would marry sooner than planned. My parents got married February 15, 1980 (My grandfathers birthday), and I arrived in September of the same year. My parents never made excuses for being young... They worked hard and taught us that family is everything. We will remain close and be there for each other because that is the only way to treat family. My mom and dad were young, but wise beyond their years! My mom and dad welcomed my first brother 17 months after me... and 21 years after that... Dylan came along (none of us where planned as you can see... but, it was in God's plan of course)! My parents are hard working, dedicated, loving, proud, and loyal. All the qualities I will carry on in my new family I am creating. I thank my parents every day for there hard work and for our strong family values. I was raised in such an amazing home. Thank you Mom and Dad for your continued support and love for Grant, and I. I love you guys! xo

Not only did I have amazing parents, but I had the most amazing grandparents as well. My grandma and grandpa were pretty much another set of parents for my brothers and I. Since my parents were young my grandparents were a huge part of growth of our family. My grandfather passed away in 2006, so he never Grant... but, I talk about him on a regular basis! My grandma is in Idaho with my parents now and we continue to talk daily as well. Love you grandma... see you in June! :)

When I was in Idaho about a month ago, my Mom greeted me with a few articles of clothing... of course everything preppy for our baby! I love the American flag Ralph Lauren! So cute! My Mom is throwing me a family shower this June in Idaho! Can't wait to see my family again! This time I'll be seeing cousins as well!

Guess being pregnant I have lots of emotions... I love blogging through this process... I plan on turning my blog into a book at the end of the year!

Thank you to all that follow our blog!

Brooke

20 weeks!

Today I hit the half way point in my pregnancy! 5 months today! Now, just another 20 weeks to go! haha. Wish me luck!

The baby is a cantaloupe!

Not sure how many baby bump pictures I will post going forward... perhaps with my shirt down... my grandma thought it was awfully strange that I posted my bare belly via the internet... haha. :)

Hope everyone has a great day!

OUR FIRST ANNIVERSARY!

Today is a special day. Grant and I have been officially married one year! I can't believe how fast time has flown by! I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful caring husband and always thinks of me and our relationship first. I thank God everyday for the love and opportunities that have presented themselves to us as individuals and as a couple. Thank you to our family that made our wonderful Boise weekend special, and our family and friends that made the travels to see us walk down the aisle together to make our commitment to each other in front of God.

Here are some pictures from our wedding last year.

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! Also, today is Grant's Mom's birthday as well! Vicki, we wish you a very happy birthday... we miss you very much!

19 weeks

And here is my new belly picture! My clothes are now fitting tight and my pants need the Bella band! But, I just got a pair of True Religion maternity jeans! They're awesome! So cute and VERY comfortable!! Looks like this is just the beginning of  the growing belly... All I can say is that I'm always hungry and this baby is growing! :)

We got to see our baby on Tuesday... My test results came back negative and the anatomy scan looked great! Now... it's time for Jake Bowman Stone to grow.

We have our 20 week appointment on the 27th. I will update with more photos (if we have an ultrasound).

In other news... Our first anniversary as a married couple is this Sunday, April 18th! Can you believe it's already been a year? This time last year I was already in Boise, in full wedding mode. A full year later I couldn't be happier and we are expecting our first baby! God is good. And I'm thankful for His continued blessings.

Here is an early anniversary present Grant bought be last weekend at A Pea in The Pod:

I will post pictures from our anniversary this weekend or next Monday!

Brooke

Registering for Jake.

I'm so confused and overwhelmed with trying to figure out where to register. I have narrowed down my decision to the following:

Babies R Us
Baby and Child: Restoration Hardware

What are your thoughts or must haves?

Might have found another baby nursery as well (click on to enlarge):

18 weeks today.

YAY! I'm almost at the half way point in my pregnancy! Seems like time is going by a lot faster now. Today thebump.com said I'm the size of a sweet potato. I wasn't satisfied with that... So, I went searching. I came across this website: http://www.hisboyscanswim.com/... Very funny website designed for a man... clearly! It tells the fathers here that at 18 weeks the baby is the size of an electric razor!

Too funny!

I'll post a belly picture later. I was asleep when Grant left this morning. :)

I die...

I die (as Rachel Zoe would say).

I follow my friend Dawn's blog: http://spontaneousclapping.blogspot.com/ and she posted baby beanies from Esty. I've never looked at Etsy until recently. This is what I found...

Addicted. Must buy all 3!

Brooke

Easter in Boise, Idaho.

Grant, Marty, Ashley and I went to Idaho for Easter weekend this year. Dylan turned 7 on April 3rd, so we were all there for his birthday as well! About twelve 7 year olds came out for Dylan's birthday. We went to a place like Dave and Busters for children. My parents were very grateful for Grant and Marty to be there to run around with the kids. They played laser tag, water bumper cars, and TONS of arcade games! Dylan ended up with over 2,000 tickets for gifts because his older brother and brother in law got very into the games as well! ;) It was so nice to have my whole family together for the holiday. And what a wonderful holiday... Christ has risen! We are so fortunate for all that we have and our continued blessings. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

Here are some pictures from our holiday. Can you believe my camera died and I couldn't take pictures of the holiday set up? Or even a group picture? I totally forgot to bring my charger! Brookarazi failed on the pictures this weekend... I think they call this pregnancy memory? ;)

Our baby boy name is….

I new before I even had kids that I wanted a little boy… I have had a name picked out since I was 6 years old. Not kidding!

The first time I watched Sixteen Candles I was 6 (I know… a little young… but none the less true). My Mom remembers me telling her that I wanted to Marry Jake Ryan. Since my Mom said I was a little young to get married, I told my Mom that I would name my son Jake. :) Now years later… I mean… years later… I still LOVE that name!

Grant knew if we had a boy that I wasn’t going to budge on this one. The good news is that Grant loves the name as well! I wanted the name to be very similar to his Daddy's so we kept Grant's middle name. Grant looks a lot like his Grandmother and Mother so we thought it was very appropriate to use there Maiden names.

Grant Bowman Stone and Brooke Ashley Stone will be the parents of:

Jake Bowman Stone

We are so very excited! I can’t wait to meet my little man…
Love,
Brooke

17 weeks!

Ok... I finally had Grant take a picture of me today... This is the baby bump at 17 weeks! :)

Brooke
