Asher is 7 months!

Asher is 7 months! It's funny how different these little guys are! I can't wait to see them both grow into their own personalities. I'm loving all of the changes and milestones Asher is hitting. From sitting at 4 1/2 months, to crawling at 6 1/2! Now, he's trying to stand. Pretty soon he'll be walking. I truly think he's trying to catch up to his big brother. Jake is always running around and getting into everything. Asher just laughes and stares at him. I can only imagine the trouble that these two will get into ... Geesh!
Well, here are some pictures of my little guy! It's hard to get the pictures now... he moves around so much. He doesn't like to sit still. I managed to still get a few. ;)
Asher is still wearing size 4 diapers, but when we're out, he'll wear his brother's 5's... if that's all I have. He's wearing 24 month size clothes. I just went through Jake's drawers, and took out all of his small clothes, and put them right into Asher's drawers. Even though Jake is a 4T, I'm sure Asher will hit that soon! I love that everything is going to be worn twice! Jake has such cute clothes... glad there getting more use!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Photo post...

This is just a quick post of some pictures from last week... I took these all from my cell phone. What would I do without this amazing technology? Remember the camera's that took film? The cameras that took the picture and you hoped for the best!? We're all so spoiled now. :)

On to the pics...

Brotherly love. Best of buddies already!
Little brother, like big brother!
Weekly date night success!
Love this man!
I will pout if I don't get my way! ;)
Little man is eating pancakes! He loves them!
Blog to follow... Asher 7 months!

32 years young.

That's me. 32 now. I remember thinking back when I was 18, what am I going to be like when I'm 30? The funny thing is that then (18 year old self), thought I'd just be working, and living the city life. I wasn't sure about kids. But, I guess at 18... what do you know... and what do you think?

As much as I liked working and my sales career, I have to say, I was meant to be a stay at home mom (just saying what works for me and my family... not what I think for others). I'm so happy that I met Grant, we got married, and we had our boys. I can't imagine my life any other way. Even with my most tired days I'm glad I'm a mom to these boys. I can always go back to work when they're grown or in school... but, until then... I get to see them grow. And they are growing fast!

At 32, I have a loving (handsome) husband, beautiful healthy children, amazing family and friends that I can count on. What more can I ask for? This week Grant took me out on my actual birthday to one of our favorite local restaurants, we relaxed, watched the sunset over the marina, and drank wine. It was a busy week with Grant working a ton, and me with the kids being busy. I was ready to relax. It was peaceful and fun. Then over the weekend I went to dinner with a few friends (the besties that were in town).

The funniest thing is that a few of my girlfriends called me and asked what I was doing on Thursday (the 13th - my actual birthday), and I corrected them and said my birthday was actually on Wednesday (the 12th - and it isn't). I am so busy planning my kiddos birthdays, and doing activities with them, that I had forgotten my own birthday. hmm.

The older I get, I'm more thankful for those in my life I can count on and I love with all my heart. Thank you for everyone that made me feel special.

And what would my blog be with out a baby update?

The biggest birthday present I got this week/weekend was being out to dinner on my actual birthday.

While Grant and I were out to dinner, I texted the babysitter to check in. The return text said, "OMGOSH...." She went on to say that when she put Jake and Asher in the bath she noticed something floating in the bath water. She moved Jake, nothing. She moved Asher, and poop! LOTS OF POOP in the bath! She grabbed Jake out, then grabbed Asher, and began to clean the bath tub. She said it was chaos. Then after it was all clean, they went back into the bath. She said it was the grossest thing she's ever seen. UMM... WOW! That has NEVER happened to me! She said, that Asher seemed so happy after the explosion. Can you imagine? YIKES! Thank you Amelia for handling that!

Now... on to the other happenings of Asher Stone.

He is growing so fast! He's crawling, going from crawling to sitting, and now pulling up onto things. Not officially standing, but he's trying to. Here's a picture of him trying to pull up on his big brother. Jake is pretty patient with him. Thank goodness! They are best friends already. It's awesome. Having them close together was such a blessing!

YOUR husband is 6'8"?

That is something I hear at least 5 times a week. And that is because I'm asked how old my kids are, and they are shocked that I'm 5'4", with my kids half the size of me already.

Why did I bring this up? Well, it's that time of year again... 6 month appointment, and 2 year old appointments... And most importantly.. Double SHOTS! I took both boys on the same day! Hmm... It wasn't terrible, but I can say I won't do that again!

How cute are they???

The nurse got height and weight on both boys and was shocked that they were from me (even though she's the same nurse that sees them on all the regular baby well appointments). She just kept telling me all the food I'd be buying later in life, and that they would eventually be taller than me... By the time they're in the 4th grade... or sooner.

It doesn't bother me! I think it's hilarious! I married a man that is 6'8. I didn't think my kids would be little. They're boys... I'm glad they're growing! Now back to the stats.
Jake is doing great! He's in the 95% for height, and just over the 95% for weight (with that said the nurse and doctor said Jake would indeed be going through another growth spurt!). So, Jake's 2 year old stats are: 36 3/4 inches, and 34 pounds.
Asher is amazing as well. This kid is on the move. He's just about crawling and he prefers to have us hold him up to stand. He's trying so hard to catch up to his brother. He's a little over the 95% with height, and 95% for weight. With stats at: 28 3/4 inches, and 21 lbs and 10 ounces.
I looked up Grants at those ages...
Grant:
6 months:
Weight: 18 pounds and 10 oz, and Height: 27 3/4 inches.
2 year old:
35 pounds, and 35 inches
Interesting right? Looks like they're pretty close to their daddy's stats. I may just have some big boys in my house as well. Either way... They're the cutest brothers I know, and I love them to pieces! :)

Jake turns 2! Pocoyo themed birthday party!

I thought time passed quickly before I had children... But, I had NO idea how fast it really goes since becoming a parent. The reason... I'm not only aging... so are my babies! Jake turned 2 this weekend. Even though I have a very busy toddler, and a busy (almost crawling) 6 month old... I would NOT miss an opportunity to celebrate in style. Yes, that means all out birthday celebration. :)

Jake continues to grow and amaze me. I love and adore him so much! No matter what goes on during my day, he brings me so much happiness. He has so many strengths that will make him such a successful man one day. Looking back on the last two years really makes me smile. I have tears in my eyes with the joy that this little guy brings to me on a daily basis. His big smile, and funny sayings crack me up through out the day. I love him more than life itself! How lucky I am to be a mommy. I love my boys. Jake was my first buddy. My little man, that went everywhere, and did everything with me. We figured it out together. Just our little family of 3. We've grown so much in the last year, haven't we? Adding Asher to this mix earlier in the year was also such a blessing. Jake has been such a wonderful big brother. He loves and cares about Asher so much already! They are best buds.

When Jake goes down for the night, all I can think about is him waking up! I love hearing his little voice around 7am, playing in his crib. I walk in and he's so happy to see me! He yells out, "mama!" It's such a great way to start my morning! And when he goes to bed, he runs around and gives us all kisses before he heads to bed. He's the sweetest.

This week I take both my babies in for their check ups. I take Jake for his 2nd year appointment, and Asher for his 6 month! WOW! Thank goodness my grandma is going with me! I'm going to need the back up! Poor babies... both getting shots. I will blog about that later this week.

Jake is such an amazing little man, I'm so proud to be his mommy, and I look forward to all the steps/milestones in his life. I already get emotional when I look back at all the videos from just when Asher was born. I always look at him to be this big boy. Such a smart kid. Even though I look at and say he's the big brother, he really is only my 2 year old little baby. Jake is such a wise little man. He's so helpful, and lovable. I'm so blessed, and thankful everyday for this little munchkin.

I am lucky. I am blessed. I am thankful. I pray for my life to continue down this beautiful path we are on. Thank you Lord, for everything in my life! God is GREAT!

Now... on to the pics from the party:

Look at this happy 2 year old!

The dessert table. I had the food on another table in the shade. I ordered Baja Senora!

 THE CAKE! YUMMY!

Asher had his Pocoyo shirt on also.

Some of the guests outside. Half of the guests where inside too. It was so hot out! The AC was perfect for the little ones! There were 11 toddlers, and 11 infants!

 Jake and his bestie, Victoria.

At this point, Jake was so tired. He wasn't even all that interested in his cupcake. Grant and I tried to make him smile for the pic....

And then we gave up... and laughed about it! ha ha.

Lizzie and I!

My VERY tired birthday boy! He fell asleep at 2pm, and was out until almost 4. Then he went down for the night around 7:30pm! He had a blast with all of his friends.

Thank you to all that came and celebrated our sons birthday. Grant, Jake, Asher, and I had a really great time! It was so nice spending this day with all of our closest friends! Until next year! Or... until Asher's birthday! ;)
