Happy Father's Day to the special men in my life!

Grant reading to our son at dinner. :)
Happy 1st Father's Day to my handsome husband. Thank you for working hard so that Jake and I can play all day. Thank you for all you do on a regular basis for our family of 3. I appreciate you grabbing Jake when you walk in the door from work no matter how tired you are! Giving Jake baths and bottles before bed time and just loving our little boy. I knew when I met you that you would be a great father.... and you are. I thank you as much as I can, but today I just want to say it again. I love you honey!

One of my favorite pictures of my boys!

To my father, thank you for being an amazing role model of what a man should be like. Grant is definitely following suit. :) You were and are so wonderful and I always know that you love me! I hope I can fill a house full of children and love, just like I had growing up. You are amazing. I am lucky to have you!
My daddy!
I adore him!
Larry Stone, my other dad... thank you for teaching Grant to be a loving father! You raised a strong and loving man... a true reflection of the dad you are. I hope you have a wonderful day as well!
Stone  men!
Life father... like son!
I love all the men in my life... Thank you God for this beautiful family and day! Amen.

41 weeks

Baby center sends me an email every week alerting me what week my son is and what his milestones should be. I'm not sure if I'd be able to remember what week he is anymore. I lost track around 6 months. Now, I usually go by months. Jake is 9 months old. :)

This little character has really been on the go. He's crawling and standing everywhere. He stands up and lets go... and either grabs what's next to him or lands on his booty. Does this mean he's going to walk soon? YIKES! He totally has a personality now. I'm just so lucky to have this little monkey. He's amazing. I love him to pieces.

Tuesday is his "9 month" baby well appointment. I will update stats then. I noticed he's slimming down... wonder if it's because he's moving all over or growing taller? Perhaps a combo of both.

Until next week!

Happy weekend!

EXCITING NEWS!!

Today I'm proud to announce...

That my baby brother (OK, he's 29 and has been married since 2007) is going to be a daddy!!
We are 17 months apart! We grew up like twins!

I'm just so excited!! Can you tell?

Ashley is 13 weeks today! I couldn't be happier for them! Growing up Marty and I didn't have cousins close in age. My uncle Phil (Mom's brother) didn't have his first baby until I was 14. And even though we are close now... growing up Marty and I only had each other. We always said that we wanted to have kids close in age... AND... BAM. Jake is 9 months and Baby Spellman is due December 20th.

My sister in law Ashley :)
I just can't believe that we are going to have babies close in age. This is the most exciting thing ... ever! I'm pretty sure this is going to make me want baby #2 now. Then Jake can protect baby Spellman (if it's a boy they are naming him Martin John Spellman V - HOW COOL IS THAT), and then Jake and Baby Spellman can protect Stone baby #2. OK, I'm really getting ahead of myself. I just am so happy!

Marty and Ashley are high school sweethearts. Ash has been in my life for 11 years! She has become a sister and most importantly a close friend of mine. :)
Mart and Ash's wedding 11-11-2007

My wedding. 4-18-2009
The day I found out I was pregnant. We went to watch my cousin Bryan play hockey.
Uncle Marty there from the beginning of Jake's life!
This is such a wonderful year for our family. I mentioned back in April that Ginny (Grant's sister) is due in August as well! I can't wait to meet that little boy! Jake is a lucky little guy to have Jackson (Ren and Lee's son), Ginny and Dave's baby due in August, and then Marty and Ashley's due in December to grow up with!

Happy Tuesday friends/family!

What you can do to help! Hair drive 2011!

Back in January I blogged about a hair drive I was putting together for my dear friend with Alopecia (Hair drive blog part 1). I had such a good response from my friends and even some blog readers I have never met!

It is so expensive to buy "real hair" wigs. And it's a little cheaper to send in real hair and then have a wig made. It's still expensive, but a little less in total cost. At least 4 pony tails of hair are necessary for a wig. The length should be longer than 13 inches. Extra hair is great to have for maintenance as well.

So, I started thinking about how I could help. Then I thought... I could grow my hair to donate, and I'm sure there are girls out there that can as well! Why not donate what comes so easy to someone that could really use it?

I put that email address together and started getting lots of responses. I was so excited by the emails I received! How amazing that so many people wanted to help! My girlfriend sent the girls that had an interest in donating a personal email and then planning started!

As of today....

6 people in total donated! And I have 7 total pony tails!

That is just incredible! I was surprised that I actually got 2 pony tails out of my mane of hair! My friend Alexis and I went and chopped off our hair this afternoon! It was such a great feeling knowing that this was going to help a good friend. She is so excited and thankful! I can't wait until she sends the picture of the "final product".

Thank you to all the women that emailed me and participated! You are all incredible and amazing women. I'm thankful to know some of you and excited to get to know the others!

If you are interested in donating, please contact me at donateforwigs@gmail.com. I hope to help donate more wigs for people in need.

If you have already donated, please send pictures so I can attach before and after photos. :)

Hope everyone has an amazing Sunday.

Jake Bowman

Jake Bowman,

You are an amazing little guy. You are so happy and fill your father's and my life with so much joy. We are so lucky to have you. I wanted to write you a little letter so you know how much we love you.

Everyday you and I go for walks with our dog Brady and we take in the sunshine. We live at the beach so we play on the beach and at the park at the end of our block. You hang out with Victoria (3 weeks younger than you), and Elijah (a year older). They are your best buddies.

Your smile lights up the room. Everyone says how happy and adorable you are. I totally agree... but, I'm bias. You look so much like your daddy. Your dad is so proud of you. Everywhere we go your dad wants to hold you. You are so loved. I'm lucky enough to be a stay at home mommy, so I see all your milestones the second they happen. We play, read, walk, run, and laugh all day. Now, I currently chase you all around the house! Your fast little guy!

Our family is in different states, but this has made our relationship as a family so strong. We rely on each other. I have learned everything by reading and watching you. I didn't think I would ever be able to do this without my mom. But, I am! It's not as hard as I thought it would be. Your Ya Ya and Pop Pop call you everyday! You get really excited when you hear their voices! You try and grab the phone and talk back! Such the little chatter you are! We are going to Boise in July! I seriously CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!! You will be able to play in their yard and chase after Coco and Casey (your grandparents dogs). Soon we'll have you on the golf course with Dylan!

You are taking a nap right now, so I wanted to write a quick letter to you. Before I put you down I held you tight and thanked God that I'm your mommy. I'm truly blessed beyond belief. I'm excited to see you grow into a little person. Always remember that I love you more than anything and that I will do anything for you!

Love always and forever,
Your mommy.

9 months.

Last night I found myself looking at old videos of Jake. I have to admit it made me a little sad. Time is just flying by. I know he's only 9 months old... but, how did that go so fast? I remember getting excited for each milestone.... but, now I want time to stop. Jake is so big. He's so happy and gives Grant and I so much joy. I thank God for this little guy everyday. What did I ever do without him? Seriously... What?

Well, I'm still excited for all the milestones in his growth, I want to take a second to take in 9 months. When I put on his sticker for "9 months" I couldn't really get a good shot. He's moving so much. He doesn't want to sit still. I did the best I could!

His 9 month appointment is June 21st so I'll update stats then. But, until then... here is what he's doing and up to:

*He started clapping at 6 months... and I'm now working on waving!
*He is throwing things forward and then chasing after it to throw it again! But, basically everything he gets he throws. He loves to throw!
*He laughs and talks like crazy!
*He's been saying mama, dada, and baba (Brady - our dog).
*He stands and walks along the furniture.
*Crawls super fast!
*Sleeps from 7:30pm till 6-6:30am.
*Wearing 24 month size clothes.
*Teething... no teeth still though. (Vicki said Grant didn't get teeth until 9 months).
*After he eats he says, "ummmmm" for yummy!
*24 oz of milk a day (or more pending day)
*Eats 3 times a day. From stuff I make to some Gerber/Earths Best foods.
*LOVES I MEAN LOVES Gerber puffs!
*Loves cous cous or rice.
*I seriously think he would rather eat what I'm eating. I usually give him a taste of what I'm eating if it's not spicy or over spiced.

Here are some pics:

Have a good week!
